Understanding Analytics

Understanding Analytics to provide a snapshot of key metrics drawn from your QI data

Analytics dashboards are used to provide a snapshot of key metrics drawn from your QI data. The dashboards, populated with counts and charts, allow you to gather and analyse key metrics to help understand the level and impact of improvement work taking place across your organisation.

All users have access to their organisation's top level Analytics to give an insight into how many colleagues are using Life QI, how many projects are being carried out at the organisation and how they are progressing. It is broken down into two areas, project data and user data.

As well as having a pre-defined Organisation dashboard, your Admin users can create dashboards tailored to your organisation's reporting needs making it easy to deliver the right information to the right people. Whether your interest is in the number of projects you are running or the progress score of your projects over time, tailored analytics allows you to focus on improvement projects, instead of writing reports!

Analytics are created from templates, which provide the structure of the dashboard, and a dataset, which defines where the data is drawn from to populate the metrics on the dashboard.

Report templates

Only available to Admin users in the Admin area

This is where you structure your analytics dashboard to meet the requirements of your organisation, making it easy to deliver the right information to the right people. The template defines the layout and content that will appear on the dashboard, i.e. what metrics are shown and in what order. Read more here.

Datasets

Only available to Admin users in the Admin area

A dataset defines where the data is drawn from when running a report or dashboard. The most common use case is when creating a dashboard for your organisation, you need to use a dataset that includes your organisation as a source. Read more here.
